LOPODIUM is a highly effective anti-diarrheal medication that contains loperamide 2mg per capsule. It is designed to provide quick and reliable relief from acute diarrhea and chronic diarrhoea associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Loperamide works by slowing down the movement of the gut, reducing the frequency of bowel movements and making stools less watery.

Usage

• Acute Diarrhea: For the symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in adults and children over 12 years.
• Chronic Diarrhea: For the management of chronic diarrhea associated with IBS in adults.
• Traveler's Diarrhea: Effective for reducing the symptoms of traveler's diarrhea.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to loperamide or any of the excipients.
• Children under 12 years of age.
• Acute dysentery characterized by blood in stools and high fever.
• Acute ulcerative colitis.
• Bacterial enterocolitis caused by invasive organisms including Salmonella, Shigella, and Campylobacter.
• Pseudomembranous colitis associated with the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics.

Directions for Use

• Adults and Children Over 12 Years: The usual starting dose is 2 capsules (4 mg), followed by 1 capsule (2 mg) after each loose stool, not exceeding 8 capsules (16 mg) per day.
• Chronic Diarrhea: The initial dose is 2 capsules per day, which may be adjusted according to the severity of symptoms, not exceeding the maximum recommended dose.

Storage

• Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.
• Keep out of reach of children.

Disposal

• Dispose of unused medication responsibly, following local guidelines.
• Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into drains unless instructed to do so.
